This year two children were elected to lead the School Council. Both Year 6 children were elected. 

This year we raised £93.99 for Save the Children.

This year School Council hosted a free clothes and toy sale for our school community. It was lovely to see so many happy faces making the most of the event. We raised £70.80 in donations towards School Council projects. We have donated a selection of books to our classroom libraries and many toys to our Unit and Reception classes.

We raised £80.80 selling hot chocolate in school.

This year we have added a School Council communication file to every classroom door.

The School Council 

Our School Council welcomes members from the school community: children, parents, Governors and staff. In order to get onto the council, children nominate themselves and following a presentation to their class, elections take place so that every class has a representative.
The School Council have been instrumental in the ongoing developments and improvements to our play space, curriculum and school lunches. They have supported with the writing of some school policies, the Code of Conduct and have organised several different fund-raising events, including a very successful annual £10 challenge.
For many years the school has been very proud to have supported a little girl, Amie in Sierra Leone with her education and health needs. 

Any suggestions or comments would be welcomed and any parents wishing to join the Council are invited to speak to a member of the office staff or Miss Grocott who leads the team.
Meetings are held virtually once a fortnight and the Committee are instrumental in many of the decisions made regarding future changes and improvements to the school. 

Waterloo Well-being Garden

Following fund raising and a grant received from Tesco, we are happy to announce that our well-being garden is now open! All classes have contributed in some way to its creation and making our garden a special place. Children are invited to use the garden at break and lunch times. Classes will also be using the garden during our mindfulness slots throughout the day.
