Year 1
Statutory Assessment Information
DT
Year 1 explored a variety of puppets and discussed how they worked. We learnt to sew a simple stitch and made our own puppets.
English
In English Year 1 attended a firework display and bonfire in the classroom! The children enjoyed roasting their marshmallows, drinking hot chocolate and watching the fireworks. We used our senses to gather exciting adjectives for our poetry.
Science
In Science we have been exploring materials and we conducted our very first experiment.
Art
We have been creating Art inspired by the famous artist Lowry. We painted our background, created industrial buildings and drew pictures of matchstick people.
Super Writing
The children wrote a recount about our trip to the park. The children worked so hard to use the correct punctuation. Some of us even used 'and' to extend our sentences. We are super writers in Year 1!
Maths
Year 1 have explored using cubes to group numbers into different ways.
English
Year 1 identified different verbs. The children sorted the verbs into past and present tense.
Autumn Park Trip
Year 1 visited the park and looked for signs of Autumn. We even spotted some very friendly squirrels!
